A private room gets you the space. What you do with it is a separate set of decisions, and most of them have to be made days before you arrive — the florist needs notice, the photographer needs a date, the kitchen needs a headcount.

How to put a night together

A birthday

Take the table and room decoration — flowers down the length of the table, name cards at each seat — then the champagne tower for the moment everyone stands up, and a photographer so nobody spends the night holding a phone instead of a drink. The birthday set is free on top of all of it: cake, crown, sash and a parade to the table.

A bachelorette

XOXO shots are eight novelty shots that exist for exactly this occasion and no other. Add table decoration and a private room with the door closed, and the rest takes care of itself. This one needs no advance notice — ask on the night.

A company party or a big group

Start with the buffet, because twenty people ordering individually is how an evening loses its first hour. The Museum Room takes 35 seated or up to 80 standing, and a photographer is worth more here than at a small dinner — group photos are the one thing nobody manages to organise themselves.
