Live Music in Bangkok Every Night: Jazz Nights and 90s DJ Sets at TUBA

What time does live music start at TUBA?

Performances begin at 8:30 p.m. in the Live Music zone. Seating in that zone opens at 8:00 p.m., with a grace period until 8:30 p.m. — so if your table is booked for 8:00 and you arrive at 8:20, you are still fine.

The bar itself opens much earlier. TUBA is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., so you can come for lunch, stay for happy hour, and still be in your seat before the first song.

Which nights are jazz nights?

Every Tuesday and Thursday is Jazz Night in the Live Music zone, from 8:30 p.m. The vocalist line-up changes monthly, which is the point — regulars come back to hear who is on this month rather than the same set on repeat.

If you are looking for a jazz bar in the Thonglor–Ekkamai area that does not feel like a hotel lobby, this is the room: low light, vintage furniture, a crowd that actually listens.

What happens on Friday and Saturday?

90s DJ sets, from 8:30 p.m., in the Dining zone. Expect the music you already know the words to. Weekends are the busiest nights of the week at TUBA, so booking ahead is genuinely worth it.

And the other nights?

Sunday, Monday, Wednesday — Thai-nostalgia 90s music, live, from 8:30 p.m. This is the sound TUBA is known for locally: Thai songs from the 90s played by a live band to a room that sings along without being asked.

There is one exception worth knowing. On days when alcohol cannot legally be sold in Thailand — major Buddhist holy days and election days — there is no live band. The restaurant stays open; the stage does not.

Is there an age limit?

The Live Music zone is for guests aged 20 and over. Children are welcome in the Dining zone, where you can still hear the music without being in front of the speakers.

Do I need to book a table?

For weekday jazz you can usually walk in. For Friday and Saturday nights, and for anything with a guest artist, book ahead — the Live Music zone fills first.

Come early for happy hour

Happy hour runs every day from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. — cocktails are buy one get one free, and draft beer is buy two get one in every size. It ends right as the band starts, which is either good planning or a happy accident.

From Sunday to Thursday after 8:00 p.m. there is a second round of deals: Budweiser buy two get one in all sizes, Thonglor Beer buy two get one, and Regency at two bottles for 1,899 THB.

Where is TUBA?

TUBA is at 34 Room 11-12A, Soi Ekkamai 21 (Thonglor 20), Sukhumvit 63 Road, Klongton Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110 — the soi is also known as Soi Jamchan, and it connects Thonglor and Ekkamai.

From BTS Thonglor take Exit 3, or from BTS Ekkamai take Exit 1, then a motorbike taxi (30–40 THB) or a taxi (50–70 THB). Parking out front is free from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; after that the building runs valet at 100 THB per car.
